The workshop will present ways to help critically ill patients find the power to recover. Based on cases of treating hospital patients, Ericksonian therapeutic techniques that use the present state to create needed change will be demonstrated.
In the workshop, the participants will learn to
- Use and create healing stories that soothe and nourish strength
- Practical techniques used for postoperative healing with care for pain control
- Use Ericksonian techniques and healing metaphors to support a terminally ill patient
Marta Nowak-Kulpa is an Ericksonian psychotherapist and psychologist who works in her own practice and at the Cancer Center of Maria Sklodowska-Curie Institute in Gliwice/Poland.
At the Department of Oncologic and Reconstructive Surgery, she works daily with hospitalized patients and as a member of the reconstructive team (which performed the world's first life-saving face transplant in 2013).
She is the author of the book "Tales from Another Fairy Tale.”
