Fonya Lord Helm, PhD, ABPP is a clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst, offering psychoanalysis, psychotherapy, hypnotherapy and supervisory consultations in Virginia Beach, VA, for more than 30 years. She treats individuals and couples and supervises clinicians, both in person and by teletherapy. Her approach is collaborative; to create a unique therapeutic experience. Dr. Helm is licensed in Colorado, District of Columbia, Florida, Maryland, Virginia and Washington, and can work with federal government workers anywhere.
She is a Training and Supervising Analyst, both at the Contemporary Freudian Society and the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis. She teaches and supervises at the China-American Psychoanalytic Alliance, and is a Director of the Psychoanalytic Research Consortium and a member of the Analytic Process Scales research group.
